I am a huge memoir fan, and I did read A Three Dog Life earlier this year and quite liked it. Oddly enough, I saw someone else reading The Middle Place and thought it might be a good read for me. Whenver I hear about a book three times in three different places, I'll usually look to get it so maybe this will go on my list.
I've seen some stuff on Diana abu-Jaber but haven't read any books. Will be interested to see what you think!

Have you read The Language of Baklava also by this author? It is autobiographical. Her story of growing up in two different worlds is riveting...uplifting and heartbreaking all at the same time.
BookPsmith - this author is completely new to me. Thanks for bringing her other book to my attention. It sounds like something I would enjoy.
