Quote of the Day

"...one of the dark deeds of the Republican anarchists is their denigration of public service and their characterization of public servants as parasites, busybodies, incompetents. To the cheater, there is no such thing as honesty, and to Republicans the idea of serving the public good is counterfeit on the face of it - they never felt such an urge, therefore it must not exist."
- Garrison Keillor from Homegrown Democrat

I must say that I'm so cynical I don't trust any of them -- Republicans or Democrats right now --

I'm so cynical that most times lately I think Republicans don't believe in "public service" and just come right out and say it -- and that Democrats "act" like they do -- they just use the line that they believe in public service just to get our hearts a swoonin' so they can get elected and they are not sincere.

The last guy I truly believed in -- in this way was Paul Wellstone.

I feel like we have no leaders right now.
