But one of the reasons I think my life is going so much better is that having originally done Wishful Drinking (the show and now the book) as a singles ad -- a really, really detailed personals ad -- I think if I attract someone from one of my audiences or one of the readers of this book, he'll never be able to say, "You never told me you were a manic-depressive drug addict who turned men bald and gay," like men say to me now.An entertaining, quick read that would be especially good plane/airport reading.

Just finished Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher. Several laugh out loud moments. Here's a snip to give you an idea:

I enjoyed this book too! I recommend listening to it, because she narrates it, and I think it makes it even more entertaining.
I didn't read it because I believed the reviews. So many better(?) drunk stories. This from a non-drinker. What do I know!?
Janell - I think you'd like this book. But what do I know?
I came so close to choosing this for my book club pick. It sounds good!
Jason, you've got me thinking how my book club would react to this book. They're kinda funny about memoirs. The Glass Castle was a hit -- Wonderful Tonight, a flop.
I love Carrie Fisher...never read any of her books but have enjoyed watching her being interviewed on TV a few times! She is so refreshingly honest.
