See this film - The Hurt Locker

"The rush of battle is a potent and often lethal addiction,
for war is a drug."

We finally watched this film last night after waiting for weeks to get it from netflix. Still unhappy with how long it took to get this DVD but the film lived up to my high expectations. The Hurt Locker gets my votes for both best picture and best director.

I actually had not even heard of this movie until the Oscar nominations came out. I was out of the country all summer when this was in theaters. I am anxious to see it! I better put it on my netflix queue, but I'm sure I'll have to wait a long time!

I have been meaning to see this film but I've just never been in the right mood. Thanks for the heads-up that it is that good.

Did you see the interview tonight on 60 min? I can't say I agree with you on best of the best; I thought it got tedious about 3/4 through. STill - I did like it and do think it was worthy of all the attn...
I saw District 9 today and it was much better than I expected!

Care - thanks for the heads up about 60 minutes, it hasn't aired yet out here in California.

I still need to see "A Serious Man" and "The Blind Side." I'm going to pass on seeing "Avatar." Both my huzz & daughter have said I wouldn't like it.

Did you see "Precious?" I really did not care for that film at all although I do think the actress that played the mom should get the oscar for best supporting actress.

Can you tell I get just a little too excited about the Oscars?

It's been in our queue - didn't this one come out the end of 2008 though? Seems I've been hearing about it for a long time and that it got into the current Oscar dealio due to parameters. Regardless, I look forward to experiencing it.
