a bookish kind of party

It's my book club's holiday gathering today. We're going to figure out the next five books we're going to read. This is always interesting. Also, we'll review the eleven books we read this year and talk about our favorites and least favorites.

I'm going to make chocolate chip shortbread cookies to take to the party. If they turn out pretty good, I'll post the recipe here later.

What are you up to today?

I wish there was a bookclub around here that I could join.

I wish you lived here so you could join our book club. Maybe you should start one.

Today I walked in the beautiful 70 degree sunshine with friends. We've been having an uncharacteristically long cold spell (cold for these parts; I don't expect any sympathy from my northern blog buddies). But it was so nice seeing the clear, bright blue sky.

That party idea sounded nice. And of course, cookies.
Go without saying.

I hope you enjoyed the night out with your book club! I'm envious of groups that plan their books so far ahead -we usually go month-to-month, which can make for a tight squeeze!
