Friday Finds

What great books did you hear about / discover this week?

I found:

Tinkers by Paul Harding via my local bookseller's recommendation. Harding's writing was compared to Cormac McCarthy. This alone is enough to gain my attention.

"In astounding language sometimes seemingly struck by lightning, sometimes as tight and complicated as clockwork, Harding shows how enormous fiction can be, and how economical. Read this book and marvel.” —Elizabeth McCracken, author of Niagara Falls All Over Again

Also found:

The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister via Michele's great review at A Reader's Respite.

I'll Never Be French by Mark Greenside via Citizen Reader.

Did some books find you this week?

How nice that your local bookseller makes recommendations that "fit" you! That's a great connection to have.
