Friday Finds

What great books did you hear about / discover this week?

I found:

Bluegrass: A True Story of Murder in Kentucky
by William Van Meter

I've been avoiding finding more books to read because my TBR stacks (that's right, plural) are making me nervous. So, I can't remember exactly how this book snuck up on me and came into my awareness. All I know is before I knew it I was at Powells reading about it and watching its video promo.

The last true crime type book I read was this past summer. It was a new book, While They Slept: An Inquiry Into the Murder of a Family by Kathryn Harrison. I had read other books by Harrison and found her to be a very good writer. I was curious about how she would approach writing in the true crime genre. It was a very interesting book and a quick read. Don't know when I'll get to "Bluegrass" but it's on my radar now.

What books said "read me" to you this week?

Eager for more finds? Sashay over to Should Be Reading.
My previous finds are here.

Hummm. Not sure if this is something I would want to read, but I agree that it is something to keep on the radar. The video was worth watching--thanks for including it.

I'll need to be in a certain mood for this book. I used to teach at a university (eleven years) and I'm always curious why kids this age can seem to get into so much trouble. Sad.

I think I added 5 books to my Amazon wish list just this week! So many books, so little time!
