Hey, is that a giant lizard by the roses?

We have a lot of various animals that inhabit the woods where we live. They range from lots of insects including shy tarantulas to the neighborhood bear. In between, are lizards (big - not giant & tiny), raccoons, foxes, western grey squirrel, rattlesnakes, hawks, owls, deer, mountain lion, wild turkey and coyote, of course.

Just today, we were looking at a very tiny lizard. It always comes out at about 5. It seems to live near the rose bushes and lavender. We've grown used to seeing and hearing all kinds of animal kingdom type things around our house. But, imagine seeing a 6 ft lizard out of the corner of your eye by the roses. Y I K E S! This happened in Oregon.
