McCain makes historic VP selection

Senator John McCain shows he still has some maverick in him by choosing Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate.

NYT:
Ms. Palin ran as a change agent when she was elected as governor of Alaska in 2006, and in a move that might have appealed to Mr. McCain, she took intense criticism from members of her own party for turning the spotlight on the failures of Alaska Republicans, some of whom had been beset by corruption scandals.

Think McCain chose this woman, I doubt it, the ad men chose this woman. What a perfect choice for the Christian Right with a Down Syndrome son, 4 other children even one off to the War,a fighter against the good ole boys and corruption, and she stands by her man.. YUCK. I consider myself a feminist why does this woman want to make me puke. She is the PERFECT choice for the Republicans and just think when McCain has a heart attack she will be the President and since she stands by her man people like Rove can use her as another one of their puppets.

Gov. Palin's selection was strategic & risky on many levels. It bigfooted last night's extravaganza and has energized McCain's campaign. On a very simple level, it is so visually different from Bush/Cheney that it undermines what the main message was coming out of the Dem convention, i.e., more of the same. This is not your father's GOP ticket. Stay tuned.
